Is it still possible to perfect the already fastest rear derailleur cage system? Ceramicspeed asked itself this question and worked on a solution together with the aerodynamics experts from Drag2Zero. And it says: It works. An almost closed cage encloses the jockey wheels and the guide plates and ensures that the air can flow past unhindered. In addition, braking turbulence is avoided. Numerous tests in the wind tunnel showed that the air resistance could be reduced by up to 60% compared to conventional rear derailleurs.
The proven Oversized Pulley Wheel System from Ceramicspeed continues to work under the "shell" and ensures a significant reduction in friction. The large derailleur pulleys with 13 teeth at the top and 19 teeth at the bottom significantly minimize the movement of the chain links when passing through the cage , which is noticeable in the lower resistance. In addition, the enlarged wheels offer a longer service life than other commercially available systems.
Please note that while there are visual similarities between the Dura Ace 9100 and 9200 OSPW systems, they are not compatible with each other.

It is important to properly lubricate the bearings to maintain performance and longevity. Simply apply oil to the bearing seals, allowing the oil to penetrate the bearing. Ideally, this should be done when lubricating the chain, after washing the bike, or after riding in adverse conditions.

When travelling, please remember to dismantle the entire rear derailleur with an Allen key, as very few bicycle transport bags offer enough space for the OSPW system.
