For the Dual Compound, two different rubber compounds are processed into one tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned individually according to the desired properties of Maxxis tyres.

Double Down
Double Down tyres are constructed just like the downhill tyres from Maxxis. However, the two carcass layers, which are reinforced with a butyl inlay, each have 120 (instead of 60) tpi. Combined with the aramid bead, this makes the tyres considerably lighter.

Wide Trail (WT):
This design optimises the tread layout and tyre shape on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed for narrower rims and become square on wider rims, resulting in a less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension of 30 - 40MM

The Dissector Dual EXO WT TR 29" folding tyre by Maxxis - the Troy Brosnan Signature tyre!

The Maxxis Dissector Dual EXO WT TR 29" folding tyre is a tyre that rolls incredibly fast, cuts through corners precisely and decelerates well when needed. The tread was based on Rekon, Minion DHF and High Roller II.
The DH version of the Dissector is perfectly suited as a rear tyre, no matter whether you are racing or in a bike park. The Trail version also makes sense on the front wheel if you want a front tyre that rolls easily and has good grip.

3C MaxxGrip
The well-known 3C Downhill compound that many of the best downhillers have trusted for years. 3C MaxxGrip offers the ultimate grip and cushioning for unparalleled Downhill traction.
At Maxxis, the 3C tread is moulded from 3 different rubber compounds in one piece and is not subsequently assembled from two strips. Therefore, the treads can be shaped exactly according to the requirements of the respective tyre model, thus optimising the riding characteristics.

Double Down
Double Down tyres are constructed just like the downhill tyres from Maxxis. However, the two carcass layers, which are reinforced with a butyl inlay, each have 120 (instead of 60) tpi. Combined with the aramid bead, this makes the tyres considerably lighter.

Tubeless Ready

Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other " tubeless ready" tyres. The bead of the Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. As a result, tubeless mounting is successful for all rims with standard dimensions even during the first inflation and with little liquid.

MAXXIS Forekaster 27.5 x 2.40 WT DualCompound TR EXO tire

The Maxxis Forekaster was specially developed for use in downcountry and on trails. This tire closes the gap between the fast-rolling cross-country tires (such as Aspen, Rekon, Rekon Race and Ikon) and the downhill-oriented all-mountain and enduro tires (such as Dissector, Minion, DHF, DHR2 and Assegai) in the Maxxis portfolio. The Forekaster is the perfect companion for long rides on a variety of terrain. The tread is characterized by closely spaced central lugs, which should reduce rolling resistance. In addition, the side lugs are enlarged and offer not only more grip, but also grip thanks to the slitting. The small ribs between the lugs ensure better self-cleaning.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 39 mm.

EXO sidewall protection
