Description

Super lightweight carbon Shimano Ultegra R8000 SPD-SL road pedals designed to work with the Ultegra groupset for high performance road racing.

Weighing only 248 grams per pair the new and improved Ultegra R8000 pedals use a wider carbon body to deliver a large shoe contact area, relieving pressure and providing a large base through which to put down your power. A 10mm body height from the axle's centre to the top of the cleat assures a low stack height, giving you better connection and reduced weight.

A large binding target allows a quick and easy engagement while wide cleats provide more efficient pedalling. The pedal uses a stainless steel body plate over the carbon for increased durability and a low maintenance sealed cartridge axle unit for a long life and smooth rotation.

The BBB TorqueSet Adjustable Torque Tool is easy to use and it might just save you a whole lot of cash in the long run.

If you don't own a torque wrench, get one. Bike manufacturers often tell us about people who have written off components or even frames by overtightening bolts. Gulp! It won't happen to you? I hope you're right, but even very experienced mechanics shouldn't rely on feel when going just a touch too heavy can result in a parts failure.

This BBB torque wrench is adjustable from 2-14Nm – a range that takes care of most bike components... stems, handlebars, seatposts, pedal cleats and so on.

First, you select the correct ratchet position on the tool head, then you set the maximum torque by pressing and turning the adjustment knob on the end of the handle. There are six increments per 1Nm and a clear gauge tells you exact where you're at.

Then you do your tightening. When you reach the maximum torque that you've set, you'll feel the handle click and you're done. Easy! The handle is easy to grip and it's 18cm (7in) long so you get as much leverage as you'll need.

The tool has been calibrated at the factory. You get a little Certificate of Calibration that gives you its accuracy, and it can be recalibrated further down the line.

You get some of the most common hex tools you're likely to need included in the package: 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm. You also get a T25 torx tool. If you need anything else, it's a standard 1/4in drive so you can use normal sockets. The whole lot comes in its own padded protection case to keep it safe.

Thanks to the 14 mm threading the new Look axle allows for Q-factor adjustment with the help of a washer that is sold separately. The Q-factor can be adjusted from 53 to 55 mm.

Chromoly Spindle for More Reliability
The Kéo Classic 3 spindle is made up of an oversized steel axle with miniature ball bearings (12 mm inside x 18 mm outside) and a needle bearing cartridge for improved wear resistance. A spacer is used to hold the needle bearing cartridge in place. A new method of fitting the spindle into the pedal body also ensures the prolonged reliability of our pedals. LOOK spindles are only approved after a rotational test of 2 million cycles at 100tr/min with a load of 90kg on the centre of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (creating a shock on each rotation).

Adjustable Release Force
The pedal release force can be adjusted between 8 and 12 Nm so that beginners and advanced riders can find the right amount of force for them.
