Coral colonies are the oldest living animal organisms in the world, but climate change is killing them; by 2050 the warming of the oceans will have caused all the coral barriers in the world to lose their colour.
Corals produce a range of beneficial effects on the ecosystem, making the oceans richer in species and more productive while offering a perfect environment for a quarter of the animal and vegetal species thriving on the sea bed.
