DESCRIPTION
The Scott Scale 50 is a 29” hardtail mountain bike designed for cross-country and light trail riding. It is built for riders seeking an MTB that is efficient on climbs, fast on tracks and trails, and capable enough to handle moderately technical terrain.
Its Scale Alloy frame features a tapered head tube, BB92 bottom bracket standard, UDH hanger, and Boost thru-axles—a combination that ensures high rigidity and a modern platform for performance riding. The Scale geometry promotes agile handling and an efficient riding position for long rides and climbs.
It is equipped with a RockShox Judy Silver TK Solo Air fork offering 110mm of travel, adjustable via air pressure to suit the rider's weight. It also features rebound adjustment and a RockShox PopLoc remote lockout, allowing the rider to stiffen the fork from the handlebar to maximize energy efficiency when climbing or riding on smooth surfaces.
Key Components
Shimano Deore 1x12 drivetrain with a 32T chainring and 10-51T cassette, suitable for demanding climbs and XC rides.
Shimano MT200 hydraulic two-piston brakes with a 180mm front rotor and 160mm rear rotor.
Syncros dropper post, allowing the saddle to be lowered quickly for better control on descents.
29” wheels with Alex Rims X25 rims and Maxxis Rekon Race 29 x 2.4” tires (tubeless-ready).
Boost thru-axles (15x110mm front and 12x148mm rear) for improved stiffness and handling precision.
Recommended Use
The Scale 50 is ideal for mountain rides, recreational or competitive cross-country, dirt roads, training sessions, and beginner-to-intermediate level trails. Its dropper post and wide tires also ensure strong performance on descents and corners over loose terrain.
It is not intended for... ...aggressive enduro, downhill, or big jumps; for those uses, a full-suspension bike with longer travel is preferable. Within the Scale lineup, it sits above the Scale 60 thanks to its air fork, longer front travel, Boost rear axle, and dropper post.
