Although the Continental Grand Prix 5000 is still one of the fastest and most popular road bike tires, it didn't stop the German manufacturer's developers from launching a tubeless-ready (TR) version that has been improved in all areas.
At first glance, the 5000 S TR is almost indistinguishable from the previous version. However, the familiar Lazer Grip tread structure conceals a completely new design. In contrast to the previous version, the 5000 S TR has only 2 instead of 3 layers of fabric under the tread. This ensures better adaptation to the surface and contributes significantly to the 20% reduction in rolling resistance. Thanks to the Vectran Breaker puncture protection layer and the grippy Black Chili tread inherited from the previous version, the reduced number of plies does not have a negative effect on puncture protection. The sidewalls still consist of 3 layers with a newly added protective layer. This not only improves the puncture protection of the sidewalls by 28%, it also ensures a more stable running of the tire at low air pressures. A new, patented tubeless construction, which does not require a sealing rubber layer, makes the tire 50 grams lighter than the previous version.
Long awaited by many Conti fans, the new 5000 S TR is now also compatible with hookless rims. However, it can still be ridden with classic clincher rims and also with a tube.
The new tubeless tire has already proven its outstanding properties and versatility in racing. Both the world champion title in the individual time trial and the victory at Paris-Roubaix were won on the 5000 ST R.

BlackChili Compound

Approximately 30% more grip and a 26% improvement in rolling resistance compared to the silica compound ensure better performance and safety.

Vectran Breaker
Vectran ™ is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber with a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran ™ is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran ™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran ™ have enormous tensile strength at very low weight. Higher puncture resistance and lower weight are the advantages of the Vectran breaker. Vectran is more cut-resistant than aramid, 5 times more tensile than steel and lighter than a nylon thread, without affecting rolling resistance. This makes it the ideal protective layer for tires. Vectran was developed for airbag systems in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Tubeless
TL technology is specially designed to adapt tubeless to the demands of road cycling, easy to fit and reliable in use. Specially developed, the tubeless foot provides a special seal thanks to its shape and ensures a stable hold on the rim.

Lazer Grip
Lets you become one with the road. The laser-cut micro tread structure concentrates on the shoulder area of the tire and thus offers you increased cornering grip.

NOTE: On hookless rims, the tire pressure must not exceed 5 bar (73 PSI). Continental recommends the use of at least 30 ml of suitable tubeless sealant for initial fitting.

Grunge brush cleaning brush
With the help of this brush, chain cleaning is child's play. Spray the grunge brush with a little cleaner and let the chain run through the bristles. The elongated bristles can also be used to clean the sprocket block or chainrings.

120 ml EcoTech degreaser:
This biodegradable degreaser is suitable for all parts on the bike. It dissolves fats and oils, but does not attack rubber and plastic. At the same time, it provides basic protection against corrosion and rust and gives metal parts a shiny surface. For less soiled parts, it can be diluted with water.

60 ml Teflon dry lubricant
Whether chain, Bowden cables or locking cylinders - this universal lubricant should not be missing in any workshop. The Teflon particles contained therein reduce friction, prevent corrosion and prevent dust or dirt from being attracted again.
