Shimano Deore XT M8100 Enduro brake set consisting of the ergonomic BL-M8100 brake lever and the powerful BR-M8120 4-piston caliper. Trouble-free maintenance is provided by the proven One Way Bleeding concept and the Easy Hose Joint System which simplifies brake hose exchanges.

Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever

The Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever's clamp is angled what leads to direct contact between compensation tank and handlebar. The so created two contact points provide significantly increased stiffness, which ultimately results in more direct feedback and thus more braking power.

The braking performance is optimized as well by the Shimano SERVOWAVE technology which improves the lever's modulation ability. Because the brake lever absorbs a lot of braking distance right at the start of its movement, the brake pads have disc contact more quickly and it remains more lever travel to adjust braking force. That is why SERVO WAVE brake systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter idle travel.

The BL-M8100 is even under high temp conditions 10 % stiffer than its predecessor. The brake lever's reach is individually adjustable without the use of any additional tools. Thanks to the I-Spec EV design the Deore XT SL-M8100-I shifting levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever.

The Shimano Deore XT BR-M8120 Postmount brake caliper is with its 4-piston construction perfect for Trail and Enduro use. Compared to its predecessor a quicker piston retraction leads to superior modulation what results in an improved braking control. The N03A Resin or N04C Metal brake pads with Ice-Tech cooling fins in combination with the powerful 4-piston caliper guarantee extremely good deceleration. In addition, the design with 4 pistons reduces disc brake rotor wobbling noise and increases the braking power by 10 % compared to the BR-M8020 caliper.

SRAM brake disc HS2 Rotor Rounded Edges 180 mm | 6-hole

The HS2 brake discs were specially developed for the requirements in the MTB sector. Compared to the previous versions, both the braking performance and the heat dissipation could be improved. In addition, the HS2 discs tend to be less noisy. These properties were achieved through a new profile that improves the traction of the brake pads. The improved heat management is achieved via 6 recessed spokes with a special heat-dissipating coating. In addition, the thickness of the friction ring has been increased from 1.8 mm to 2.0 mm compared to the SRAM Centerline discs. Thanks to these optimizations, the braking performance could be increased by 7% and in the Garda test the window temperature could be reduced by 40 degrees. Rounded edges on the top of the lens minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI World Cycling Association. Another advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, because the rounded top prevents it from tilting in the brake calliper. The discs are available with diameters of 160 - 220 millimeters. Thanks to their high stability, the HS2 brake discs are also ideally suited for E-MTB use.

Changed were for the BL-M9100 the lever both the clamp and the grip body itself. The clamp moves further into the center of the handle and is angled. This cleverly supports the outer end of the balance tank directly on the handlebar and creates an additional abutment during lever operation.

This significantly increases the stiffness and stability, which ultimately leads to an even more direct brake feel and better controllability. Thus, the BL-M9100 is also 10% stiffer compared to its predecessor. The grip width of the lightweight XC brake lever with a magnesium housing is also individually adjustable. Thanks to I-Spec EV construction, the XTR SL-M9100-I shift levers can be mounted directly on the brake lever.

The 2014 new XTR brake calliper BR-M9000 for demanding race intended uses. Two parts bolted and forged aluminum. Improved controllability, less heat generation and optimized ergonomics guarantee seamless reactions and safe braking in any intended use.
The M9000 has a caliper braking force that is tailored to the uncompromising racing use and which offers a lower overall weight, which, fixing screws made of titanium and brake pads with aluminum beams is achieved by a brake caliper of magnesium.
