Due to the 7-point mount the friction ring, the vibrations of the disc could be reduced, which also reduces noise when braking.
The rounded edges on the top of the pane minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the World Cycling Association UCI. Another advantage is that they make it easier to install the impeller because the rounded top prevents jamming in the brake caliper.

The HS2 brake discs were specially developed for the requirements in the MTB sector. Compared to the previous versions, both the braking performance and the heat dissipation could be improved. In addition, the HS2 discs tend to be less noisy. These properties were achieved through a new profile that improves the traction of the brake pads. The improved heat management is achieved via 6 recessed spokes with a special heat-dissipating coating. In addition, the thickness of the friction ring has been increased from 1.8 mm to 2.0 mm compared to the SRAM Centerline discs. Thanks to these optimizations, the braking performance could be increased by 7% and in the Garda test the window temperature could be reduced by 40 degrees. Another advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, because the rounded top prevents it from tilting in the brake calliper.
